What To Choose?
If you’re running a website on WordPress, finding an efficient and reliable hosting platform is undoubtedly on your to-do list. With plenty of reliable hosting providers available, you may find yourself in a pool of such Web Hosting Providers. However, if you dig deeper and shortlist those by the features then they did be left with Hostinger & WPX known for their distinct feature sets, both offer robust tools for your WordPress hosting needs.
Yet, picking between the two can be a daunting task.
In this blog post, we will perform a thorough comparison of these platforms, focusing on speed, technology, security, customer support, and pricing.
Speed
Website speed is a crucial factor in performance and user experience. A website that loads quickly can significantly lower bounce rates and enhance search engine rankings.
Hostinger is renowned for its speed, utilizing a distinctive combination of software, including LiteSpeed caching and sophisticated optimization tools. Hostinger achieves remarkably fast speeds, often under 200 ms, leading to a seamless user experience and better rankings.
WPX Hosting also performs well, supported by high-performance SSD servers, PHP 7.X, and their exclusive CDN. WPX Hosting commits to delivering some of the fastest WordPress hosting services available. Their average loading time for a site is 1.97 seconds, which is noteworthy for speed and performance.
Notably, and to conclude, you can go for Hostinger if you are tight on budget and WPX if you have the budget. Speed wise, both seems to surprise us with their performance.
Not just WordPress, you could also launch your WooCommerce store with the best industry speeds with their WooCommerce Hosting. I have tried many hosting providers where they get pretty slow when WooCommerce is installed. However, this is not the case with WooCommerce hosting by WPX Hosting.
P.S: I didn’t even feel much of a difference in WPX hosting and any cloud hosting. It’s that fast.
Technology
Hostinger harnesses cloud-based technology to deliver a near-perfect uptime score and seamless performance. They have integrated advanced tools for developers, including SSH access, FTP, GIT, cache manager, and a multi-tiered caching system. Furthermore, they have partnered with Cloudflare to utilize their protected nameservers for basic DDoS protection.
WPX Hosting centres their system around a unique CDN aptly named WPX Cloud. Optimized specifically for WordPress, this approach ensures the fast, scalable delivery of your content. Known for their enterprise-level DDoS protection, they offer comprehensive security with daily malware scanning.
Remember, I mentioned above that I don’t really feel a difference between the actual Cloud Hosting from any other provider compared to the WPX hosting.
You get dozens of things along with Hostinger hosting to choose from and no wonder, WPX also provide some of them, but if you are planning to use resource consuming plugins like WooCommerce for your online store, then it’s definitely WPX you need to go for.
Security
When it comes to security, Hostinger stands tall with well-rounded protection that includes Bitninja to safeguard against threats like XSS, DDoS, malware, and script injection. They provide cost-effective SSL certificates, crucial for building trust with your website visitors.
WPX Hosting, on the other hand, takes security up a notch. They offer unlimited SSL certificates at no additional cost. Additionally, they have DDoS protection, daily malware scans, application firewalls, and spam protection. This well-layered security system certifies the safety of your data and website.
Customer Support
Now this is a tricky one to answer. I am not siding with any of them and will personally share the experiences I had with both of them.
I do work with lots of clients and it’s no wonder many of them has approached me complaining about the hosting and how their websites just go down lot of times, throw errors up and down.
Case With Hostinger Customer Support:
One of my client had a website that goes more than 3GB in total. Believe me or not, I was even shocked and given that he is on a local hosting provider that I never heard of before, wanted me to migrate this giant website of 3GB data over to Hostinger. I tried many plugins and compressing files in zips and pulling/sending data over FTP/SSH and everything.
It did fail at times, sometimes nearly at the last stage possible, it keeps failing. Luckily, I decided to get in touch with Hostinger Customer Support and explained them the whole scenario.
They were absolutely kind enough to provide me with an ETA of 24 hours and took the ownership of the migration, completely for free. (Do note that this client was on their Business Plan for 48 Months).
They updated exactly after 12 hours that it is done, the whole migration. I checked and yes it was indeed done and zero downtime, and I can’t believe how cool is that.
Case With WPX Hosting:
WPX Hosting customer service is just outstanding. Too fast, takes ownership very quickly and had amazing turnaround times.
One of my clients had used nulled plugins (cracked plugins) for WordPress and didn’t mention about it. I had migrated the client to the WPX hosting and the nightmare of his site going down came in.
The website just automatically started acting weird showing **rno ads all over and even downloading some spooky .exe files whoever visits his site.
Their daily malware scanners were super helpful and connecting to their customer support, helped me even better. They made sure they help till the site is all clear and didn’t complain. Do keep in mind, that some other hosting provider would have ban you by now.
Email Service
Hostinger provides 100 emails as free to use. They have a clean interface, and efficient email service and inbox. They also happen to provide you with a separate URL that can be used to login directly to the email inbox and access the emails.
Similarly, the WPX hosting provides you with the email services completely free of cost within the plan and it’s unlimited. Both of them provide plenty of options in their email service, that is forwarding, auto-responder, personalized emails and spam filters.
Pricing
Well, the main thing is pricing, yet we are discussing it at last but trust me you don’t want a website that goes down time to time.
For Hostinger, I really liked the deals they are giving away for the new users and if you take their 48 months plan, you definitely saving around $400. However, the only thing I didn’t like that they don’t offer the same prices when it comes to renewal. You will need to be aware of this while going for Hostinger as they have different prices upon renewing.
WPX is no wonder costlier, but, they don’t this sort of tricks. They are more transparent and charge you upfront and for what they are providing. They don’t lure you into weird upsells and I really like how they put up the prices compared to the services they offered.
WPX is no brainer choice if you are a business and will eventually needs scaling.
Conclusion
Choosing between Hostinger and WPX Hosting for your WordPress hosting needs can be challenging. If prioritizing budget and reasonable performance is your goal, Hostinger offers a cost-effective solution with reduced impact on functionality, making it an excellent choice for small to medium sites.
However, if speed, premium customer service, and stellar security are your prerequisites, WPX Hosting makes an unbeatable competitor. While the costs are higher, the benefits offered justify the investment, particularly for websites with high traffic.
Remember that in the realm of web hosting solutions for WordPress, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t exist. Your website’s needs, your technical expertise, and your budget should help steer your decision. We hope this comparison aids in ascertaining the best WordPress hosting for your needs.
